SLIPPERY WHEN WET...


Safety is becoming an important issue in today's society.  As the population ages we all find the need to increase safety in our homes.  Grab bars are a great start, but when you grab them with wet and often soapy hands, they tend to become slippery.

Off The Front has introduced under the GripLink® logo various products dealing with home safety.  Including the new innovative (patent pending) RailSafe® product.


RailSafe®

RailSafe® is a new ground-breaking safety grip wrap for hand rails.  It is available in versions intended for grab rails.  It is also available in lengths designed for stairwells, outside railings, and any where a good grip is needed.  Designed to add friction, comfort, insulation, and visibility. Incredibly easy to apply (just peel and stick), and just peel off when you want to remove it (leaves no sticky residue).  Since it only changes the diameter of the rail by a miniscule amount, and doesn't shift or move, it remains ADA compliant.

Slip and falls are a crucial problem, and is the leading cause of death for seniors.  In the past focus has always been on the foot and on floor surfaces.  However, as falls continue to increase, focus is now starting to turn to the hand.

As you descend stair and steps, you only have one point of surface contact at any time, UNLESS you grab the railing.  By holding onto the rail you double your stability and increase your level of balance, greatly reducing the risk of falling.   But, often outside railing is too cold or hot to grasp. If railing is too hot to the touch; or unbearably cold or icy to grab; or slippery,  the railing can often be a detriment.   Railing is put in place to help us keep our balance and we need to make sure that these handrails can be used adequately.

Sometimes, added insulation, and a little extra grip is all that's needed to increase the level of safety in these situations.

RailSafe® was developed to add insulation, friction, visibility, and an even surface to any railing.  It works well in wet conditions.  It insulates against the elements, allowing the railing to maintain a more suitable temperature.  The various colors add important contrast to the railing, making it more visible and adding better depth perception.

RailSafe ® comes in variable lengths, with easy to follow instructions.   Goes on in minutes (applies like contact paper) and is ready to use instantly.   When it's time to replace or remove  RailSafe ®, it simply peels off easily (in one piece), and leaves no sticky residue. (Clean up is a breeze.)
